When the Creator is not enough, story of initial Gods

Before our Brahamanda (Galaxy) was created by Brahma. There were a few entities called Swayambhu. Swayambhu means one who originated spontaneously, they exist without parentage. Shiva, Brahma, and Vishnu are considered few of them, many of them have no relevance to us so we forgot them.

Initially, Brahma was more powerful than any other god. He was described as Golden, shiny and full of life. Once he began the formation of Brhamanda, he didn’t stop till he lost it all. He poured all of his life force into his creation. He lost his lustre and life. He was shown as an old man. He still possessed enough power but not comparable to that of other Swayambhus.

Once he finished, a group of Gods ruled over the creation. These Gods were called Prajapatis. Pajapati means lord of lesser beings. (Actual meaning is lord of Praja = beings.) Now these beings unanimously chose Brahma as their ruler because of respect and realization that he was the one who truly created and holds it all.

Few Prajapatis were Swayambhus and few were created by Brahma, even the created beings who were created by Brahma like Prajapati Daksha had enough power to create entities by his own will. These Prajapati had their ways and dominion. They must not be taken as a uniform group of entities, they were powerful and very different in their understanding and approach towards creation. Post-creation events some Prjapatis were even more powerful than Brahma.

The story proceeded and newer beings did not readily accept the rule of Brahma. They sought power and other Prajapati were offering more than Brahma. The system was showing cracks in the structure of the hierarchy. Nobody is devoid of pettiness. Brahma had a few problems and he challenged Vishnu and lost the challenge. Along with the challenge he lost his respect and status too. Prajapatis were divided now. Vishnu became a separate ruler and certain beings started to worship him individually. Brahma had a life-changing event he took a backseat. Nobody can deny that Brahma is the father but it must also be realized that people will even forget their father if they want to. The throne of Brahma was succeded by the rule of Daksha Prajapati.

Let us understand the character of Brahma. Brahma is the god of creation and father to almost all of the entities. He creates the Brahamanda but let’s understand that he does not do it out of responsibility but out of his natural impulses. It is his nature to create like it is the nature of a bird to tweet. He is also not the supreme knower. When Brhamarishi Vashsith (sage) was going through the understanding and invocation of Mahavidhya Tara, he was not able to guide him properly. Nature is not the creation of Brahma, Brahma just shaped the available Shakti to take a particular form. Even that too is done within the rules of nature, he can not supercede the rules of nature.

The cracks in the union of Prjapatis were evident post-Brahma’s rule. Vishnu and Shiva were being worshipped separately. Daksha held a grudge against Shiva/Rudra/Bhairava (or someone, Vedas and Puranas have an ambiguity towards the definition of Rudra). Daksha held Shiva/Rudra/Bhairava responsible for the disrespect and downfall of his father Brahma. Events happened and even Daksha’s throne fell. It was also the point where evident violence happened between Prajapatis. Daksha could very well be the Goat-faced deceiver, the beast, of the Abrahamic faiths. We do not know what happened to Daksha after that. Some evidence is there in Hindu society of his downfall. The people with clan names as Prajapati lost their status in the social hierarchy. Some other communities like carpenters, potters and masons too lost their status in the social hierarchy, when Brahma fell. It must also be noted Daksha was the first God to differentiate beings based on power, type and existence. He was the first one to ride around a palanquin carried by humans, not animals. He was one of the first to have this classification of superiority and inferiority. The end of his rule

Now the era of projeny of Daksha came. These became the Anupalakas, Kshetrapalas and Lokpalas. These are titles of nobility like those in a Kingdom, like duke, marquess, earl, viscount, baron, etc. Lokpala is a ruler of a dimension, it is a separate world. Lokpala distributes his responsibility amongst Kshetrapalas (Rulers of the big regions – countries and continents) and further, it is distributed amongst Grampalas (Ruler of Villages/City). These entities share their rules with shared responsibilities. These Gods serve as guidance to rulers and common humans. These beings also give rise to different cultures and religions across the planet. They call themselves angles, Devta, etc and they even could prefer to exist faceless and nameless.

The Prajapatis had some sync and understanding of others. Even today the higher Lokpalas have some coordination but lower ones are mostly ignorant and fight for their throne and status. They come from an ancient cycle of hate and ignorance. Some of these are even considered demons by others. Two brothers of the Daitiya lineage named Hiranyakashyapa and Hiranyaksha tried to attack the domain of Vishnu. Their names translate as creator and holder of the Brahamanda, respectively. They were defeated by Vishnu. It is to be observed that these beings are Godly to us but they are not Godly to one another. Vishnu is considered one of the Swayambhus and the two entities mentioned above are the third lineage of the initial gods. Now with every lineage the power of God decreases but here Hiranyakashyapa and Hiranyaksh considered themselves to be powerful enough to challenge the domain of one of the first Swayambhus. Is it either ignorance, vengeance or just foolish, I can’t say that but it is certainly daring.

We must also understand that our literature narrates our side of the story. Daitya Kula is one of the eight major Kula. You can not eliminate them. I am in the position that the problem must be eradicated from the roots. I have made advances in the direction that if Diti is evil then why not just end her? This is a foolish idea that I used to have. These Asta Matrika are the physical manifestation of fundamental Shaktis, one can not wish them away. Your energy system has her signature, you can not eliminate her without mutilating your own body and energy system.

Your very own body is evidence of these Gods’ existence. These Gods flow through your breath and serve as the base reality of our existence. These Gods do not need your constant worship to remind them of their Godhood. Brahma, whether you acknowledge him or not, he will exist in the very base of your existence. He doesn’t want your worship, he is a reality that awaits your discovery. A tree remains a tree and does not need a constant reminder of its existence. It is only the modern God that constantly needs to be pampered with prayer. These modern Gods that proclaim that “I am the one and only true god”, remember that same words were used by Hiranyakashyapa. His limbs were separated from the body like twigs from a branch. There are ancient realities which must not be trifled with even these do not care for your worship or acknowledgement. They exist like the air which is always around us. If the air is removed, these Gods, realities, goals, ambitions and life itself will fail. No Palakas could ever supersede the fundamental reality.

What is God to you?

I was a cocky teenager. I used to make provocative statements and lived in a world of grand narratives. Sometimes, I dreamt of true harmony because we were brought up utopianists with extreme Gandhian morality as our standard. The problem people like us is that we live in our heads. If the content of our heads is allowed to become a reality, most of the time, it is seen that the other heads roll. I was a pseudo-atheist because it was cool.

Yes, yes. I met with hardships and crippling pain but that pain just made me want to spit on the face of god, if it existed. If god is something external or more correctly another individual then the relationship between God and I must be like that of any worldly relationship. For me, God could not have had the titles of judge, master, creator, guide, punisher, rewarder, conqueror, parent, partner, etcetra. For me, god had to be something more intimate. Anyway, I am not the focus here. You are.

We add titles to our names, Theist, Atheist, Agnostic, etc. Do these make any sense? So let me explain. Have you ever heard a sane human questioning does the air exists or not? Though intangible in most cases, it is felt in many ways. Nowadays, we have metrics to measure it.

Similarly, we need to have definite metrics to measure the intangible. This problem of God being out of reach and God must be approached only by the feeling of servitude the root of many evil like terrorism and better than thou begins from it. The world is separated in two, us versus them. The older literature, the first of the Ved and Tantra approaches nature and entities in a very different way. The problem is the interpretation by us. The later literature taught servitude towards the eternal but the ancient literature approaches with interrogative manner. In ancient literature, anything which exists as a separate individual is explained as a transaction. The all-mighty merciful God is a recent construct.

The Gods were raping, dominating, vengeful, stubborn, hedonistic, promiscuous and cruel. This literature is similar across the Earth. Suddenly these Gods realized we can not rule over humanity with these traits and these disguised gods came into existence. Now the biggest con in this is that ancient literature gives out methods to peek into the domain of these gods, now the people who possessed these abilities were systematically eradicated in Abrahamic societies. The people with healing abilities, people with sight into the other world, and people whose knowledge could challenge the authority of god were punished for their existence. Now, you do not have any access to the domain of the god. You are forced to believe that god is something good and worthy of your worship and every such thought that questions the authority of god is to be eliminated. Doesn’t it look like a proper con scheme?

Now let’s approach this question from a different angle. You acquired your beliefs and affiliations over time. These ideologies give you identity and there is no problem in defending your beliefs. This is part of your personal space and must be respected but just like any personal opinion, if it is exposed publically, it will be no longer protected and it will be subjected to scrutiny. It will be better that you introspect thoroughly before expressing, don’t sell your belief. “Do you believe in our lord and saviour….?”, well do you truly believe? Your beliefs must not take refuge in ambiguity and agnosticism.

There are many types of people. Some use religious doctrine to defend their identities. They do not care for the understanding of the nature of God. Their goals are either to debate, take a morally superior vantage point or find refuge in an establishment. Debate is a form of entertainment, moral superiority is a defence mechanism and refuge-seeking is a way to maintain sanity when exposed to a limitless universe.

There are a few people who are touched by something which could be called divine. Shamans, Oracles, Aveshists, Clairvoyants, and even the typical “gut feeling” people have something with a touch of divine. Now these people are vulnerable as much as they are capable. If tomorrow a spirit comes and tells you I am God, gifts you with things and after earning your trust makes you a tool of their plot. Many great humans were part of such a plot line. These humans tend to become sheep of their sheperds and sheperds in the end rob their sheep of wool, meat and lambs. Why was Abraham asked for his children?

There are very few people who possess godly capabilities. Those who understand the game and choose the path of power. They invest their time and efforts to circumvent the expanse of nature. They travel deep and above to understand the equations. These people could be deemed as walking Gods on the planet. These are rare to be seen and rarer to be taken guidance from.

Finally, there is a type even rarer than the Godly people. When you have seen joy and pain, heaven and hell, holy and heinous. When you have been through multiple cycles of it then comes an onset. Where you look for an escape or something that makes much more sense. In Dharmic religions, Mukti or freedom has multiple layers. Mukti from birth death cycles is a type of Mukti and there is also a type of Mukti where an individual no longer exists. This Mukti also becomes the goal for many. Mukti is sought by many but very few look for the underlying phenomena. Why is the current state of existence different from Mukti? This question unlocks a different layer of seeking. The term “God” could mean multiple things for multiple people but what hat does it mean to you?

So what is your relationship with God? Are you an atheist and use God as a tool for your entertainment? Do you hide in God to be safe in uncertainty? Do you have the “grace” of God on you? Do you want to become a God? or the god was a fad to you and now you look for something more deeper and truly eternal?

You can be anything, believer, or nonbeliever, you can be in a state where the word belief makes no sense. A state where you are truly adamant that god does or does not exist. In all these states just don’t lie to yourself, lie to the world just not to yourself. Do not believe in things, research till you can reach an answer. A point where you no longer have to believe. Life will never stop to intrigue you.

The Relationship between Entities

Once the god of creation Brahma was asked, “Please tell us, what is the relationship between divine beings and humans.” He replied that “the relationship is similar to the relationship that that any two individual beings have.” He explained that “the relationship is transactional, you give us the gods tribute using ritual sacrifices (Homa/Hawan), and in turn, we bless you all with manifesting your material desires.” He did not honey coat his words. According to him, everything was simple, you give us things and you get things in return.

Even though the stories are quite simple, Indra of the Puranic versions fights to serve his purpose. He fights for his kingdom and his gains. He kills his half-brother in a fight for dominance. The text states that he killed Vritrasura to free his possession of water element. Vritrasura, being a son of the elemental mother of water Danu, had his right to possess the water element. Humans (Hindus), who gave their homa to Indra, were not given the right to water as the homa was not given to Vritrasura. So, Indra attacked Vritrasura to protect his domain and nothing else. Evil is a myth; everyone is serving their purpose.

The powerless serve whoever is powerful. It is the way of the world. The gods that you serve might not be the gods for someone else. The demons might be the gods for someone else. The dogs will fight for their masters even if the master is evil for the rest of the world. People want to deny the hierarchy of existence but it is a futile process. There will always be rich and poor, good and bad, masters and servers, “affluent people” and “savages.” Classes and hierarchies shall forever exist. We can make this world accessible but we won’t be able to make the world equal. Being civilized simply honours the hierarchy, laughing together, and respecting personal boundaries. Remember you will have to conform to this reality, if anything breaches this hierarchy there shall be strife. If you wish to live in peace know your position in this existence.

Stating all of that always remember you are allowed to work on yourself. Know your existence supersedes the will of the mighty. Very few beings truly want to help you. Most of the time there is always an ulterior motive. The celestials, do not wish to help you, they are there to serve their purposes. Do not believe in the things which stand in the darkness. A door opens both ways. If your God can see you, you shall also be able to see your god. If you are serving your gods with your faith, you must be able to see them. You must be able to understand their motives you must be able to see what they are.

Do not trust, the world is selfish. Being an individual being, your existence for you is the highest. Do not die for a land, cause, or a god. Serve, but your purpose. Before being completely selfish, first, try to understand the higher purpose. I am not the prophet to tell you what the higher purpose is. It is a discovery you shall have to discover on your own. Don’t be a sheep, the shepherd shall take your wool and meat if he wants to. Shepherd shall protect you in his capacity but he shall throw you to the wolf if his own life is at stake.

These words are not for simple-minded people and I am not a master who shall guide you. I’m just a fellow traveller who is telling you the bridge ahead is broken. You have the right to go on that path and discover for yourself. Open your eyes and realize, they are not going to facilitate your higher calling. They are there for their own goals and you are here to discover your existence. I am just trying to remove their clothes and blindfold off your eyes.

Let the sheep and shepherds be, and realize your own goals.

Where it began…

Around fourteen years ago (being written on Feb 5, 2024), I felt an extreme dispassion and disgust towards life. I also felt an urge to study Jyotish (Indian astronomy and astrology) and Tantra (Indian Occult). In the starting two years it could easily have been diagnosed as something psychological if not a psychiatric disorder.

I never imagined that I was headed towards a very different journey. The starting four years were excruciating. These included tenancies of self-harm and a lack of feeling of self-worth and one day suddenly everything was bright again. Over time layers of depth opened up. The most significant event was a particular night. It was 11:15 PM on Dec 28, 2015. Kundalini flowed through me. It is a once-in-a-lifetime experience like having your first orgasm which came as a surprise.

Let me explain what Kundalini is and what it feels like. Unlike how others mention it, the Kundalini does not feel pleasurable. It feels like something external taking control of your body. It’s chaotic, powerful and wild. It also does not feel like possession, you are in control. It is something like a fireman handling a firehose but it is inside your body. It is intentionless and propertyless energy. Just like orgasm, it is not the same second time. You expect it. Some people get to know of it somehow, and then they plan for it but again it’s not the same when you know about it. It’s just different when you do not expect it. It was so feral and overwhelming that I had to get help from experts to contain it. I will explain more about it in the coming time but I can say that it leaves you with a wonder that there is something that you could have died without experiencing and other people don’t even have a clue of its existence.

It doesn’t bring you anything good in the beginning but it can make bad things happen, initially. It’s like giving a knife to a toddler. Over time it becomes approachable and accessible by understanding but you surely will get a few cuts while trying to understand it. It is the reason why people look for a Guru. A capable Guru is very well needed for it too but give up the idea you will find a Guru. You need a type of Guru that is only for you. You need a Guru that is like a dedicated parent. A Guru with a “world view” and with multiple disciples will cause hindrance in your progress, if not serve as an impediment. You can damage yourself along the way where you will have no chance to recover and it can even harm you for lifetimes, not just this life. Seeing my initial four years made me so desperate that I just wanted an escape and the Kundalini could only serve well with such a person. Kundalini came to me like that only. Kundalini made me too desperate and then came in. A Guru must place you before his existence then only one can help another when Kundalini is considered. Once Kundalini comes in one can no longer be an atheist, unless of course one considers oneself psychologically unstable.

Another type of entity that can help you on this path is one that constantly tells you to not go on further. Kundalini is a brake-less car on a frictionless surface. Once it goes no one can stop it, even handling the direction is hard. You need someone to constantly remind you, DO NOT ACCELERATE. It’s the only thing needed from such an entity.

After some time, slowly but surely, you will have Siddhis. Now there is this idea that Siddhis are something that constitutes supernatural or paranormal abilities. I will not deny that claim but Siddhis could even give you something small yet elegant like beautiful handwriting or an astute perception and attraction towards beauty. It can make you feel content and happy. Let me explain this a bit. You have life energy flowing in you that is why you are alive. If it stops, it causes Samadhi, silence, death or coma-like states. If it flows subtly, it can cause love, beauty, cunning or similar states. If it flows forcibly, it can cause damage or change in your body. These things are very dynamic and can not be measured. Kundalini is a way you can voluntarily change your existence. It is also to be remembered that one can not have everything, a slim person can not be a fat person. Choices, alignments and sacrifices are to be made. Generally, people do a lot of preparation towards Siddhis and use them for their needs. There is nothing bad about these. There are actions and consequences. All these people who say that you do not need Siddhis, well such people either never have been in a scenario of need or had been forcibly castrated out of desire. Siddhis help you to make your life easy and beautiful. These help you in certain ways, so you can spend time on other things of value.

After Siddhis comes an understanding of what is around us. I will need several hours to explain it but here I will explain it briefly. It is a realization that I am not alone. A child is born and is brought up like he is king of the world. He is pampered and a single drop of tear is handled like something very serious has happened. Similar exclusivity is felt in the initial phases of Sadhna. You are curious, exploring, free and pampered but over time you have to realize that there are several like you. Everyone has their intentions. Some are minding their own business, some are enjoying their journey, some are good and helpful and a very big part of these relationships are transactional. You do this for me and I will do this for you. It is all natural. Scientifically, there are four main symbiotic relationships: mutualism, commensalism, parasitism, and competition. Both benefit one another, one is benefited and another has no impact, one is benefited and another one is harmed, and both are competing. You are not alone and you are not the only type of being. You have to find your place in this world. If you go in a dark alley, you can get robbed, kidnapped or killed, or nothing could happen. It all depends on the area you are exploring. Making the right decisions that all we have to learn.

In my life, the first step was depression, the second one was Kundalini, the third one was Siddhis, the fourth one was understanding of surroundings and the fifth one was the realization of the goal. See people have their ideals and gods. People think that Jesus, Krishna, Buddha or other entities of their preference are the epitome of life. See, once upon a time we all used to think that our caretakers were the most powerful beings in the world. Over time, we grew out of this feeling. Similarly, if we explore a bit more these perceptions about these epitomes might change. We live in a very unstable world, so I will choose my words wisely. God is something beyond one’s perception and certainly is powerful. Let’s say somehow we were able to bring God into some form of measurement then we could realize something more about God. So in my measurement, all these entities sitting on their mountains came into the resolution of my measurements. This is my personal opinion that these entities are not the epitome for me. Even Gods are not that fantastic, once one can see their expanse. I will not shove this thought down your throats but once we can see past the horizon the perception changes. They will always remain excellent, powerful and maybe respectable too but they might not be infinite, omnipotent and omnipresent any more.

My goal is exclusive to my existence and depends upon the current understanding which came out of my explorations. This is not your goal. In my life, I outgrew my clothes multiple times. Similarly, I outgrew my ideals and Gods along the way. I am walking towards my goal and that’s it.
